irrlichter/ghost lights

A cooperation with kmkg.org

irrlichter/ghostlights refers to the ghostly lights sometimes seen at night or twilight over bogs, swamps, or marshes. It looks like a flickering lamp, and is sometimes said to recede if approached. Much folklore surrounds the phenomenon. The project is a contemporary realization of this topic. A series of specially gutted flourescent lamps, connected through a self developed software and a stereo equipment are used to create a spooky environment. The setting was on one hand used as an mixed media installation on the other hand as a tool for an audiovisual performance.
